Prototype Hybrid Motorcycle - Super Ultra Low Emissions (SULE)

This is the first prototype of AEDs SULE Hybrid Motorcycle covered under US Patent #:US10,164,502 B1 Mobile Diesel Generator and Power Propulsion System. This motorcycle was researched and developed for SBIR contract with the U.S. Department of Transportation. The overall operation of the electric hybrid vehicle employs propulsion energy from three primary sources: 1) An engine/generator burning petroleum gas powering a generator to provide electrical energy directly to the AC motor and battery charger; 2) A battery energy storage module receiving electric energy from the engine/generator. The battery can also be charged through plug-in power. Vehicle regenerative braking, energy to batteries; 3). Engine generator and battery pack provide power to a variable speed and power AC motor. The vehicle can be operated in three different modes chosen by the driver: i1) Engine/generator direct to AC motor through controller. 2) Electric only, batteries through controller to AC motor. 3) Combine engine/generator and battery module for max performance. The engine/generator can operate in two ways: 1) Engine running with engine speed controlled by the operator with automatic battery assist as needed to reach desired performance. 2) Battery power primary with automatic battery recharge/power assist from engine/generator. Regenerative braking can be programmable to simulate conventional engine braking. All motorcycle functionality can be via conventional controls. SULE Hybrid Motorcycle Prototype built on Suzuki Savage 500cc Motorcycle Chassis with Honda AC Converter Generator and Electric Motor and Lithium Ion Batteries 6kw-hr
