Wisco An Old Fashioned Supper Club For Sale

3, 600 Square Ft.
Nestled in the northeastern corner of Dodge County, Wisconsin, at first glance, LeRoy, WI may not seem a likely destination for those who don’t live there; however, LeRoy can boast two things that make it unique to other Wisconsin towns. First, this small farming community is set only three miles north of the Horicon Marsh and offers some breathtaking views of the Marsh. Second, LeRoy is the home to The Wisco Supper Club, an old fashioned supper club, which offers a great atmosphere in which to enjoy excellent food.

The supper club has an interesting past: It was once a tavern, general store with butcher shop, and dance hall (all at the same time) at one point it offered rentable sleeping rooms as well. The building was built in the late 1800s by Louis Lehner and, known as Lehner’s Corner, became a very popular stop for stage coaches and local travelers for years. The traffic made the town very busy, and it offered a blacksmith shop and other small businesses. The dance hall was used by the community even after it ceased to be a dance hall as it hosted weddings and even movies.

In 1973 Dick and Jeanne Kollman purchased the building which was being used as a tavern and small restaurant. Inspired by the history of the building, Dick and Jeanne expanded the dining area in order to help the building remain a popular community gathering spot. For 44 years they happily served guests from near and far, used for birthdays, anniversaries, wedding rehearsals, and small weddings, the restaurant became the hub they envisioned.... and now they have passed down their legacy to Mike and Teresa Amerling, who after being long-term guests, purchased the supper club in January of 2017.

Since buying the restaurant, Teresa and Mike have rebranded as The Wisco an Old Fashioned Supper Club. With a refreshed menu and excited new owners, The Wisco has received several accolades and awards and was even featured on WTMJ’s ‘We Love Wisconsin’ tour! We have also been added to travel Wisconsin’s and Ron Faiola’s (Author- Wisconsin Supper Clubs) list of authentic supper clubs in Wisconsin and recently held the first private dinner event for the Facebook group ‘Wisconsin Supper Club Enthusiasts’ which sold out in just a few days.

This is a growing, thriving business that is fully equipped and staffed. As far as we know, all of the staff intends to stay on if the new owner chooses. The Wisco is currently only open 4:00-9:00 three days a week (Thursday-Saturday) and often filled with reservations Friday and Saturday, leave lots of growth potential. When we bought this, we had a 5 year plan. We never imagined the number of friends we would meet in this adventure, or the wave we would create, but we are at the point of moving on. We would be happy to assist new owners in transition. If wished, we are available to continue our roles for a couple months as you learn. We would love to see this business serve customers for another generation, but where it goes from here is completely up to you!
